Patron Opportunities

 

The Alberta Science & Technology Leadership Foundation (“ASTech Foundation”) is governed by a Board of Directors that includes a representative appointment from each of the Patrons.

The ASTech Foundation requires a commitment to a term of not less than three years for each new Patron approved by the Board.  The representation on the Board provides a unique opportunity for a Patron to participate directly in the strategic and policy decisions of the Foundation.  In addition, the ASTech Foundation provides a series of additional benefits that enhance the opportunity of the Patron to realize its own corporate objectives within the context of the Foundation’s activities. One of the main benefits is the demonstrated association with this forward-looking organization.

It is interesting, and indeed significant, that the three founding Patrons (Bennett Jones LLP, KPMG LLP and the Government of Alberta), and the two Patrons that joined in the next two years (Alberta Research Council and Syncrude Canada) remain as active participating members of the ASTech Foundation.

In approving new Patrons, the Board endeavours to maintain a level of sector exclusivity to enable optimum opportunity for each Patron to achieve its own goals in supporting the Foundation.
