For six years, Mr. Libin was Chairman of the Alberta Ingenuity Fund, an organization created to nurture science and engineering research and discoveries in Alberta, a position which he fulfilled until May 2006. 

Mr. Libin has received numerous honours for his community service. He was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club International and holds an Honourary Doctor of Laws Degree from the University of Calgary. In 2002, he became an Officer of the Order of Canada. That same year, the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research created the Libin Prize in Cardiovascular Research. In 2004, Mr. Libin received the Alberta Order of Excellence Award. 

Today, Mr. Libin is President and CEO of Balmon Investments Ltd., a management services and investment company, and also serves on several corporate and community boards.  He is also a Director and Co-owner of the Calgary Flames hockey club.
